Are dogs allowed in the museum?

No, dogs are not allowed on museum grounds. Guide dogs are allowed.

Is the museum accessible to disabled people?

Both the main building and the outdoor museum are wheelchair accessible.  The first floor can be reached by using the elevator. The African villages are accessible by paved paths. 

The museum has 5 parkings for disabled people. Three are located on the left of the entrance. Two are located close to the museum restaurant 'de kleine kalabas'. 

Does the museum have wardrobes or lockers?

Yes, the museum has a (unguarded) wardrobe. There are also lockers. Bags or backpacks larger than a sheet of A4 paper have to be placed in the provided lockers. 

May I take pictures in the museum?

Yes that is allowed. You can only take pictures without flash. 

I would like to use the museum as a location to shoot pictures and videos. Is that possible? 

This depends on the end goal. Make sure to contact the Marketing and Communication department by calling 088 0042 976.

May I take food and drinks?

You can take food and drinks but it's only allowed to consume them in the outdoor museum.

Can I rent a conference room?

Has the museum an audio tour and in which languages?

Yes, the audio tour shows you the highlights of the permanent exhibition. The tours are available in Dutch, German and English. An audio tour is free and is available at the entrance.
